We are so grateful for all of the support we have received to help make our Sunday Supper a night to remember.
It takes a village to make a strong community, and this event is a reminder of the generous and varied people who are passionate about open space, agriculture, and healthy families.
Read on to hear about some of the people and organizations that are donating excursions, dinners, a wine refrigerator, and even a food-serving bus to help us host our Sunday Supper on October 9.
Thank you for all you do to make our community a great place to live. I'm proud of our village.
When the canteen food and service truck exits the parking lot of the Suisun City Salvation Army Kroc Center on October 9, it won't be headed for an emergency situation like it was last summer when it served as a food distribution, power, and communications hub during the Clayton Fire.
This time around, the Kroc Center will serve the community in a different way as its canteen rolls down the lane at Joyful Ranch to deliver food for Solano Land Trust's Sunday Supper...
Spending time with friends and family is the best!
That is why, in addition to lots of cool stuff, we are including fun experiences in our auction at the Sunday Supper.
The "Experience Solano County" package features a tour for 20 at Wooden Valley Winery; golf for four at Green Valley Country Club; a behind-the-scenes tour for eight at Vacaville Museum with director Shawn Lum; and Cool Patch Pumpkin Corn Maze for four.
Other live auction items include:
Experience Napa Valley, complete with wine tastings and hot-air balloons
Dinner for eight with a private chef
An overnight stay for four in Big Sur with a hike and wine tasting
The chance to be a cowboy for a day with rancher Bill Bishop
Ride-a-long on a sheriff's boat
The silent auction includes art and adventure, and a
raffle offers the opportunity to win a wine refrigerator stocked with 30 bottles of premium wine!
Be prepared to bid!
We can't wait to see you. (The dinner is sold out. For those who couldn't make it, we hope to see you on one of our properties soon!)

More than Wild
Pressley goes the distance
After a 30-year hiatus from backpacking, Steve Pressley and his wife Jodi Lane have taken it up again in a big way. For their first trip back after working full time while raising two daughters, they hiked in the Central Sierra for 13 days.
Although they still take trips together, Steve has taken his outings one giant step further.
How much further? Let's just say he plans to go beyond where Cheryl Strayed went in Wild...
Dress up as your favorite plant or animal for this free Halloween hike for ages 8 and up. Learn about plants, animals, and ecosystems of Rockville Trails Preserve with docent Steve Pressley.
What living things might you see or find evidence of, and what physical things might they depend on and in turn influence? Watch for places where owls, bats, snakes, or spiders might be spending their Halloween!
Walk to school on October 5 and help celebrate the 20th year of this program. Each year, thousands of schools participate in more than 40 countries. It's been so popular that many schools have stretched the one-day event into the entire month of October.
It's fun, and encourages physical activity, reduces traffic, and helps promote safety in neighborhoods.
