Hamilton Utilities to Celebrate Public Energy Week Oct. 3-8
Hamilton, Ohio -  This week, October 3-8, Hamilton Utilities is celebrating Public Energy Week 2016 in conjunction with the American Public Power Association's Public Power Week and the American Public Gas Association's Public Natural Gas Week.

Because they are not-for-profit, community-owned utility systems are about hometown decision making that puts customers first. Community members have a direct and powerful voice in utility decision making. Hamilton Utilities is proud to serve community residents and businesses, providing local control, competitive costs, superior customer service, and economic benefits for the entire city.
"Public Energy Week celebrates the reliable, competitive electric and natural gas service provided to the Hamilton community," said Director of Public Utilities Kevin Maynard. "Public energy puts the people of Hamilton first, and Public Energy Week provides an opportunity to share the advantages of our locally owned utilities that support a strong community."
As part of the week's activities, Hamilton Utilities invites the community to a free Customer Appreciation Cookout on Thursday, October 6 from 11 a.m to 1:30 p.m. on the Government Services Center Plaza, 345 High Street. Enjoy free food and drinks, educational displays about Hamilton electric and natural gas systems, giveaways and more.
Thursday evening the public is invited to the Lane Library to hear the results of a recent paranormal forensics (paraforensics) investigation at the Hamilton Power Plant. For a number of years, staff and contractors have reported unexplained "visitors" and other strange occurrences at the City of Hamilton Third Street Power Plant. Creepy Cincinnati  Paraforensics volunteers will share the results of two recently completed investigations at the facility during special "Haunting of the Hamilton Power Plant" presentations.
The presentations will include a discussion of how the "ghost hunt" was conducted, equipment used during the investigation, and audio and video recordings obtained at the facility. Presentations are scheduled for 5:15 and 6:45 p.m. on Thursday, October 6 at the Lane Library, 300 North Third Street, Hamilton. The event is open to the public and there is no charge to attend these special presentations. Light refreshments will be served following the presentations.
