Borrow a NOOK
Nooks

Sedona Public Library and SPL in the Village have 10 pre-loaded NOOKs available for patrons to check out. Patrons 18 and older with a library card from the Yavapai Library Network may borrow a pre-loaded NOOK Simple Touch for up to three weeks. The NOOKs feature 22 best-selling titles such as Gone Girl, Wild, and Killing Lincoln. For Spanish speakers, we're offering a pre-loaded NOOK with books in Spanish.

When you are ready to borrow a NOOK from the Library, stop by the reference desk with your library card. Allow 5 to 10 minutes to complete the NOOK loan agreement and for staff to show you how to use the device. The Library invites you to be among the first to check out a NOOK.

Health Screening Scheduled in May
Back by popular demand, a health screening has been scheduled on Monday, May 6, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Provided by Northern Arizona Healthcare, the screening measures cholesterol levels, blood pressure, and blood glucose.

On Sunday, April 14, the Library thanked our volunteers with a fabulous fifties-themed luncheon featuring burgers, hot dogs, root beer floats, and strawberry sundaes. Awards were presented for 1 year, 5 years, 10 years, 15 years, and 30 years of service. Collapsible water bottles with the Library's logo were given as thank-you gifts. Drawings for book baskets and gift cards rounded out the day.

Pictured are six of our many exceptional volunteers: Hiro Miyakawa, 10 years; Don Schwartzmiller and Ross Skiver, 15 years; Richard Sauk, 5 years; Sonya Landholm, 15 years; and Nina Strauss, 30 years (our longest-serving volunteer). Other longtime volunteers honored were: Tricia Egger, 5 years; Dennis Elliot, 10 years; Diane Schwilling, 10 years; and Mary Stanley, 10 years.
