Movies in July
Enjoy a free screening of these recent-release movies on Monday nights at 6 p.m. in the community room. There will be no movie on July 27 because of the railroad exhibit.
  • July 6: Latino Services presents Wild Tales, nominated for best foreign film at the 2015 Oscars. This black comedy from Argentina mixes humor and darkness to explore themes of revenge and the joy of losing control.
  • July 13: American Sniper, a military biopic based on the memoir of the same name, centering on legendary Navy SEAL sniper Chris Kyle.
  • July 20: Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, a sequel to the popular movie about a group of British retirees in India.
Youth Services Update
The summer reading program ends with a celebration event on Saturday, July 25, at 11 a.m. Award-winning magician Eric Giliam will provide a thrilling, all-ages show.

In the meantime, more opportunities to learn and laugh will be coming your way in July, including:
  • Art Rocks: Tuesday, July 7, 11 a.m. Learn the game of rock, scissors, paper and take home a craft creation. Dress for mess! All ages can drop in, and caregivers are encouraged to help their little ones.
  • Snakes Alive!: Wednesday, July 8, 11 a.m. All ages can enjoy a free Red Rock Ranger District presentation, which will include a non-venomous live snake show-and-tell and an informative session on rattlesnake biology, history, safety, and first aid.
  • Hero with a Hammer: Friday, July 17, 11 a.m. Local musicians Sol and Theresa Morris bring renderings of railroad heroics to the community room.
There are still a few spots open for our annual Sedona Youth Theatre Workshop for ages 10 and up, which starts July 7. Call the youth department at 928-282-7714, ext. 119, for more information and to register.
Sedona Railroaders Display
The annual model railroad exhibit, presented by the Sedona Railroaders club, will be on display in the community room from July 27 through July 31. Popular with railroading enthusiasts of all ages, the display features several layouts running different scale trains. The railroad exhibit is free and open to the public.
