The New York State Historian Devin Lander recently sent a "Local Government Historian Survey" to all municipalities in the State. The purpose of the survey is to ascertain information as to which local governments are in compliance with the Municipal Historian's Law and to better understand what resources are available to these offices. Municipal Historians --- please make sure that your government has completed this form for your community. The data collected will be an important tool to lobby for greater support in Albany.
The lecture will be a general overview of the National Register of Historic Places, along with information on eligibility and tax credits. While the event is free and open to the public, registration is requested. Contact Gail Myker at [email protected] or (845) 341-5483 to more information and to hold your spot.
