In case you missed the homecoming festivities, here's a look at some of the fun across the district in a nutshell. October is here and with it comes lots of adventure outside of the school building - including outdoor classrooms, pumpkin patches, and Taylors Falls boat rides.  Catch up with our Facebook pages connected to Primary, Lakeside, Taylors Falls, Middle School, and the High School for all the latest pictures. Here's hoping the good weather hangs on for a little while longer...

Project WET Comes to Wild Mountain

Each year 5th graders at Taylors Falls and Lakeside Elementary schools, along with students from other area schools,  attend a one-day event put on by the MN DNR. This year's Water Festival was held last week at Wild Mountain.

MTEEA Recognize Teacher Excellence and Administrative Support

CLHS Teacher Ryan Dewey and CLMS Principal Jodi Otte

Ryan Dewey, CLHS Technology Education Instructor,  received the Minnesota Technology and Engineering Educators Association "Teacher of Excellence" award at the MTEEA Fall Conference Awards Banquet September 23rd.  Ryan was nominated by the St. Croix Valley affiliate of the MTEEA. Ryan currently is Affiliate president.

The Teacher Excellence Award is one of the highest honors given to technology and engineering education classroom teachers and is presented in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the profession and their students. The Teacher Excellence Award provides public recognition at the local/state through international levels.

The Teacher Excellence Awards program was established to identify outstanding technology and engineering teachers who will serve as models for their colleagues and who could form a leadership core to affect change in the field.  Ryan's nomination will be forwarded to the International Technology and Engineering Educators Association awards program.  This award will be given out in March at the ITEEA Annual convention.

CLMS Principal Jodi Otte received the administrative support award after her nomination by Ed Wakefield and Scott Frischmon, CLMS Technology Education Instructors. Ed and Scott credit Otte's help with the acquisition of the 3D printer and ongoing support of the PLTW program at the middle school.
