Auction of Rare Confederate Sword Benefits Goodwill
Sale Generates Thousands to Support Job Training and Employment Programs

A sword was recently found in donations received by Goodwill and identified as something special by the donation attendant with a very keen eye. Donor Spotlight
Cole Frantz

On a rather routine September morning, Cole Frantz, a Goodwill donor and ardent supporter since 2014, answered the phone to talk to us about her passions. She loves her family's gorgeous farm in New Castle, on which she flies gliders as a member of the Blue Ridge Soaring Society and creates simple pottery forms in her spare time; she loves to stay active with kayaking and travel; and she loves to support Goodwill. She has spent her life cultivating her interests and working hard to be able to chase what she loves, and she appreciates Goodwill for allowing other people the same opportunity.

A Path to Independence
A message from our President & CEO, Bruce Phipps

I have been with Goodwill for more than 40 years. When I think about the thousands of people whose lives have been impacted by Goodwill, it is gratifying to know I have played a small role. For each person, the services they've needed have been different. But what is consistent in each case is that Goodwill helped them to find a path to greater independence.
