Roxbury township and library officials on Sunday praised a local Boy Scout for building boxes that will house books that people can borrow for free and even keep if they like them.

The "Little Library" boxes were created by 17-year-old Boy Scout Hunter Webber as an Eagle Scout project. The boxes, filled with adult and children books, are mounted on posts and situated near the Imagination Station at Horseshoe Lake Park, at Kiwanis Park and at Landing Park. Another is inside the Quality Inn on Route 46 in Ledgewood.

A Chance for Young Ladies to Catch the Rugby Bug
Roxbury girls who are curious about female rugby have a chance this weekend to see their peers in action when an all-day tournament featuring some Roxbury players takes place in Denville.

The 9 a.m. tournament, at Morris Rugby's home fields on Pocono Road (across from St. Clare's Hospital), will happen on Sunday and, for Roxbury spectators, the team to watch is the Lady Lions. That's because three of the 14 girls on the Lady Lions are Roxbury High School students: Senior Jess Nagie, senior Kelsey Joyce and junior Alie Ramage.

Roxbury High School has had four girls play rugby for Morris Rugby, more than any other high school in Morris County, said Ramage's mother, Diane.

Accents on Dance Upcoming Programs

Hip Hop Dance After School

Hip Hop is an eclectic street style of dance that is performed in running shoes to current upbeat tempos. The dynamic moves taught in Hip Hop class are fast, stylish, funky and similar to those seen in music videos.

This class is appropriate for high energy dancers that are driven by a beat. Similar to a Jazz class, Hip Hop is broken down into 3 parts - warm up, corner work/technique and choreography. Students in a Hip Hop class will work on their strength, flexibility, and musicality through intricate fun and fast paced funky choreography.

Since the tempos are usually quicker than any other dance form, the choreography in a Hip Hop class provides a great cardio workout and is also a fun way to exercise the mind and memory.

(Children should wear comfortable clothes and sneakers to class)

Date:   Throughout the 2016/2017 School Year
Time: After-School at the Designated School
Location: Franklin, Jefferson, Kennedy, and Nixon Elementary Schools
