GLOBAL PULSE
Connecting members of MMAC's World Trade Association,
the region's premier international network.
Message from the Executive Director

Welcome to a new year of programming and networking with members of MMAC's World Trade Association. We kicked off this fall with a social event featuring China Lights at the Boerner Botanical Gardens this past Tuesday, October 4. The festival showcases more than 400 light displays of dragons, floating lanterns and pagodas. Metro Milwaukee is one of 100 stops on the world-wide tour of this spectacle. Weren't able to make the event? The festival runs through October. More details: China Lights

Our next event will shed light on a number of international "hot topics." WTA members will provide their unique insights on the issues of the The Trans-Pacific Partnership, fluctuations in the exchange rates for the British Pound and Mexican Peso and the Verified Gross Mass (VGM) requirement implemented in July by SOLAS has impacted shippers worldwide. >>Register

The rest of the year will include roundtable discussions specifically for compliance professionals and manufacturers (bring your tough questions!), on-going webinars, a global economic outlook in December, and of course, our capstone event of the year, the 2017 Wisconsin International Trade Conference. Mark your calendars now for Tuesday, May 10 at the Wisconsin Center!

As always, please contact me if you have ideas for programs, are looking for a specific international resource or need to make a peer connection.

India has been enjoying a high growth rate of over 7% in recent years.  With a majority of its 1.2 billion population under 35, India is poised for even greater growth. It is also a land of under-developed infrastructure and multiple barriers to entry. India is an attractive and challenging market.
