OHIO: WORKSHOPS IN ALTERNATIVE MODES

Join us for a pair of free workshops on "Alternative Modes for Practicing Playwrights" on Saturday, November 5, from 11:00am to 3:30pm.

11:00 am
"Podcasting: New Opportunities in Dramatic Storytelling"
Justin Glanville & Angie Hayes

In this presentation, writer Justin Glanville and sound designer Angie Hayes will talk about creating the scripted audio drama Munchen, Minnesota. They'll share stories about writing in an audio-only, serialized format, as well as how they cast, record, and sound-design each episode.

1:30 pm
"Crafting the Screenplay: Three-act Structure"
Simone Barros

One of the building blocks of the screenwriting craft is the three-act structure. In this workshop, novice screenwriters will gain a deeper understanding of that structure--including the inciting incident, climax, and dénouement--while more experienced screenwriters will enhance their creative problem-solving techniques. For playwrights, this workshop serves as a great way to step into screenwriting, as the craft of playwriting directly translates into the form.

Both sessions will be presented with Playwrights Local as part of their 2nd Annual Cleveland Playwrights Festival. Find complete information, including a parking map, please visit the link below.
