Front Porch Festival Ushers in Autumn

Celebrate the autumn season at Glendale's Front Porch Festival and Old Towne Marketplace on Saturday, Oct. 15, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a variety of activities, sales and much more.

 
Glendale Shoots for New Recreational Amenity

Saturday, Oct. 15, 9 - 10:30 a.m.
Glendale Heroes Park

The public is invited to attend the official grand opening of the city's newest sports and recreational amenity, the Archery Range Complex at Glendale Heroes Park, on Oct. 15, with a ceremony and ribbon cutting, archery demonstrations and more.
 
Kids Can Cook up Some Fun Oct. 22

Saturday, Oct. 22, 11 a.m., 4 weeks

Creative kids (ages 7-12) will love to learn how to use ingredients to create yummy dishes, including a breakfast, lunch and dinner item, plus dessert! Also learn basic kitchen safety, safe food handling and proper use of kitchen tools. Soon your kids will be able to cook dinner for you!

Learn the Arizona Two-Step 

Thursday, Oct. 27, 7:45 p.m., 6 weeks

Are you into country music? Learn the Arizona two-step -how to lead and follow, turns and more. If you are a beginner and would like to master the basic before heading out to the honky tonk, or that upcoming wedding, this class is perfect for you! 
 
Sweet Halloween Treats 

Saturday, Oct. 22, 11:30 a.m., one-day class

Halloween is almost here. Think outside the candy box and learn to make cupcakes with exciting and unique decorating techniques, including fondant. You will impress family and friends with your artistry - both beautiful and delicious! You will be taking your cupcake(s) project home. 

Ballroom Dance

Thursday, Oct. 27, 6:45 p.m., 6 weeks

Expand your skills to really cut a rug at your upcoming social events and parties. You'll learn the basics of the Waltz, Foxtrot and Tango, taught by experienced ballroom dance instructor, Jason Dalaly. Geared for couples. 

Touch a Truck Oct. 22

Saturday, Oct. 22, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Westgate Entertainment District

This free event is fun for the entire family and educational, too! Come out, look at, sit in and "Touch a Truck" of all sizes and shapes.  Industrial, commercial, rental, fire and city vehicles will be on display. Enjoy shopping, dining and more before and after the event at Westgate Entertainment District!  

Neighborhood Halloween Event Oct. 28 

Friday, Oct. 28, 6-9 p.m. 
Foothills Recreation & Aquatics Center

Bring your little ghouls and boys (ages 10 and under) to Foothills Recreation & Aquatics Center for an evening of activities, including carnival games,  train rides, a costume parade, arts and crafts and of course candy! Admission is $4, and parents are free.

Movies by Moonlight Start Oct. 7

Fridays, 6 p.m., Oct. 7 - Nov. 18*
Various park locations

Every Friday evening, Oct. 7 through Nov.18*, at various parks throughout the city, family favorites like Disney's Lilo & Stitch and the spooky favorite Hotel Transylvania will be screened starting at 7 p.m. There will be activities before the movie at 6 p.m. also, varying each week. (*No movie on Nov. 11)
