2017 NASW-NJ Chapter Elections
 
Would you like to serve in a Leadership Position with NASW-NJ?

We are currently seeking potential candidates to fill the following positions on the Chapter Board of Directors:
- First Vice President
- Northwest Regional Representative
- Northeast Regional Representative
- Undergraduate Student Representative (BSW only)
- Graduate Student Representative (MSW only)
 
Also, the Committee on Nominations and Leadership Identification (CCNLI) will have four (4) positions open in the next Election.
 
The Election will take place in May of 2017. Terms of service begin on July 1, 2017. Candidates will be notified of Election results by the first week of June.

Stafford Police to Implement Innovative New Program with Ocean Mental Health

On Thursday, September 15, at the Ocean Acres Community Center, Chief Thomas Dellane announced the new pilot program the Stafford Township Police Department will begin implementing. The innovative new program "On Point" will put a licensed clinical social worker at the police department to work alongside the officers and assist them in dealing with certain crisis situations in our community. The Campaign to Achieve Social Work Practice Mobility and License Portability

The Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) is working on a social work practice mobility and license portability initiative. NASW and other social work organizations are supporting the campaign. Learn how you can get involved here.
NASW-MI and EcoCuba Network Announce a Cross Country Social Welfare Trip in Cuba: April 23-May 5

NASW-Michigan will be collaborating with ECO CUBA Network in sponsoring a social welfare-focused trip to Cuba where members can earn 45 CEUs while learning about the health and human services system in Cuba. All of the information about the program, logistics, application process, continuing education and contact information for EcoCuba Network can be found here.
