A study for the Minnesota Hospital Association found that nearly 1 in 5 days psychiatric patients spend in the hospital is potentially avoidable.

Lifetrack Deaf Mentor Family Program
Evaluation of this program matching families with young children who are deaf and hard of hearing with a trained adult mentor who is deaf. The program aims to improve the child's access to language.

MN2050 State of the Infrastructure
Results of a survey gathering information about the characteristics and management of Minnesota's infrastructure. Responses from 519 cities, counties, and state agencies showed they manage at least 17 different types of assets (e.g., roads, bridges, traffic lights) using a range of tools and systems.

Welcome new staff!
Wendy Huckaby, Communications Manager
Wendy brings 20 years of experience in strategic communications to her role at Wilder Research. She develops and implements print, digital, and event strategies to meet client needs. Most recently, Wendy was communications manager for the University of Minnesota Extension Center for Youth Development.

Azra Thakur, Research Associate
Azra's research interests include social determinants of health, the promotion of health equity, and cross-sector collaboration. Prior to Wilder Research, Azra was a project coordinator at the Minneapolis Medical Research Foundation at Hennepin County Medical Center.
Out and About
Poster Session Winners
Nicole MartinRogers, Research Manager, and Paul Mattessich, Executive Director, tied for first place at the American Sociological Association conference poster session in Seattle. They presented on Speaking for Ourselves, a study about the experiences of immigrants and refugees living in the Twin Cities area.
