Autumn has arrived! The days have been getting shorter, the weather is growing colder and the leaves are beginning to change. Corn stalks are appearing by mail boxes and on porches. Soon, Jack-O'Lanterns will appear!

Where did the practice of carving pumpkins originate? From Ireland actually! Children would make homemade veggie lanterns, made from hollowed potatoes or turnips with a candle inside. When the Irish came to America, they brought this tradition with them, adapting it to use pumpkins instead! Read more about this at history.com

Unfortunately, the autumn brings more than Halloween parties and sweet treats. No, we're not talking about not ghouls and goblins. The fourth quarter often has many pressures, such as wrapping up projects and planning for the new year. We know you're buckling down and working hard, but we would also like to point out that this is a great time for reflection and self-improvement. "Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall," Fitzgerald wrote in The Great Gatsby. Read why autumn is a time of renewal in the article: Let's Just Do Autumn Resolutions posted by The Atlantic

We hope that you have a productive fourth quarter and a very Happy Halloween!

Sincerely,

Katy Cook, CSP
Marketing Coordinator
