The students, all master's candidates at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, hail from India, Nepal, and Pakistan, and have varied interests in education, art, human development, and public policy. They will help with SAI research
projects, digital outreach efforts, and the Arts Program.

DeCoding Asian Urbanism Conference: October 28 & 29
The conference, in partnership with the Bengal Foundation and the A+D Museum, Los Angeles, will focus on efforts that embrace Asia's rapid growth, and the cultural and physical complexity of the built environment in the region.

Student voices
The shipbreaking capital of the world
Marisa Houlahan, Harvard College '17, spent her summer conducting research in Chittagong, Bangladesh, a major hub for shipbreaking. More than 70% of the world's defunct merchant and passenger vessels are now dismantled in South Asia, where labor and environmental regulations are largely unenforced.
