Curiosity Classes Open to Current & Prospective Caedmon Families
Dates Vary
In an effort to give prospective families more insight into the Caedmon community and curriculum, the Admissions Office will be offering a series of Curiosity Classes for families looking to apply to our school, which are open to current families as well. Classes include Bilingual Toddlers, Cooking Montessori Style, Story Time Saturdays, and more. If you know of any families who are in the midst of their search for that perfect independent school for their child, please pass along information about each class and how to register by clicking here. If you have any questions, please contact Jennifer or Lynn in Admissions.

Fourth & Fifth Graders: Registration Open for Caedmon Basketball Teams
Mr. Kagan and Mr. Balon are excited to undertake our fifth season of Caedmon Team Basketball this winter, again competing in the Gotham Basketball Association. Any interested student in Fourth or Fifth grade, girl or boy, can play.

Caedmon practices will commence on November 1st from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. in the Caedmon gym.
  • Tuesdays: Fifth grade girls
  • Wednesdays: Fourth grade girls
  • Thursdays: Fourth grade boys
  • Fridays: Fifth grade boys
Interested families should contact Mr. Kagan at kagan@caedmonschool.org. And any family looking for some strong basketball instruction in the weeks leading up to the Caedmon basketball season should look into Mo' Motion's Boost program. The instruction is excellent and the organizers are many of the same folks who put together the GBA season.

Spaces Still Available: Caedmon Music School Lessons & Classes
Start the school year with music lessons through The Caedmon Music School. A well-regarded program, our talented faculty of professional musicians offers private lessons in piano, violin, guitar, drums, recorder, cello, flute, voice, rock guitar and rock drums. In addition, Funikijam (a world music education program) classes are offered for the littles ones. Our doors are open to adults and non-Caedmon families as well. Register today on My Backpack. For more information, please contact Paula Flatow, Director of The Caedmon Music School, at flatow@caedmonschool.org.

The Doctor is In: With School Psychologist Dr. Angela Seracini
Friday, October 7th | 8:45 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
Have something on your mind that you'd like to discuss with Caedmon's psychologist, Dr. Seracini? Drop in for office hours! This is a time when any Caedmon parent can come in to ask questions or seek advice about their children, child development, and parenting issues on an individual basis. Parents are welcome to make an appointment or just drop by. Dr. Seracini's office is just beyond the Nurses' Office on the Main Floor. E-mail address: seracini@caedmonschool.org.

CFA General Meeting: Magic Planet Demonstration
Wednesday, October 5th | 8:45 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. | The Lobby
A faculty member will be giving a demonstration our new Magic Planet, a beautiful digital projection globe. Hang out after the demonstration with fellow Caedmon parents and family members to learn about the wealth of events that are in store this year, including the Caedmon Book Fair, the Halloween party, family movie nights, and more. The CFA is looking for volunteers to assist with event planning and coordination. If you're hoping to connect with old friends, make new ones, or if you just want to help out at the school your child calls home, you're welcome to join in on the fun! Schedules are flexible to accommodate working moms and dads, and helping even a little bit goes a long way. And trust us: your kids will be happy to see you at Caedmon!

Photo Day

Get those outfits ready -- the cameras will be here before you know it! We will again be working with the fabulous team of photographers from Stomping Ground Photo. To help you plan, class and individual portraits will be taken against a gray backdrop.

A Note From Stomping Ground Photo:

  • Have them dress in something that makes them comfortable.
  • Our staff will help make your children feel confident and natural.
  • Two to three weeks after picture day, you will receive a unique login to view a private gallery on our website.
  • Place your order and receive it approximately two weeks after your school's Order Deadline.
