We are excited to welcome you to the first installment of the Advantage Academy- Grand Prairie East 2016/2017 school year online newsletter.
 
We at Grand Prairie East hope you continue to find this style of communication to be a positive step in keeping you informed of what is happening on our campus while conserving resources at the same time. Columbus Day/*AA Texas State Fair Day is Monday, October 10, 2016 - No school for students or staff

Staff Development is held October 11-14, 2016 - No school for students.  The purpose of this week is to provide intensive development of our teachers for continuous improvement. 

*1 Free Texas State Fair ticket will be distributed before October 10th to AA students & staff.

Prep Shirt Required (Juniors & Seniors) 
Every Wednesday Juniors and Seniors are required to wear a Prep Shirt ( Oxford white prep shirt) with the Advantage Academy Logo. Buy now at Global School Wear.

Homecoming Dance- 7:00 PM- 10:00 PM ( GPE Fine Arts Building High school students only) 

10/1- Saturday School Boot camp- 8:30 AM- 12:30 PM

10/5- National Take Your  Parents to Lunch Day 

10/10 -  Columbus Day/ Fair Day- No school for staff and students 

10/ 11 to 10/14 -Staff Development/ No school for students

10/18-21- 1st Nine weeks assessments

10/25 Carter Blood Care will be on campus from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. 16 and 17 year old's who want to donate will need to get a permission slip signed by parents/guardians.

10/29- Saturday school Boot camp- 8:30 AM- 12:30 PM

Spirit Shirt/Jean Day Fridays
 
 
Spirit Shirts are required on Fridays and may be purchased for       $8.00 in the Main Office.
 
Jeans are optional on Fridays for $1.00 fee .   Jean passes are $15 per semester or $25 for the year.  Buy now online.
View Your Child's Grades Online!
Parent Portal is Available to You! 

          Advantage Academy wants to help you access your student's grades. Sign up now for access to the Parent Portal and you  can monitor your child's grades and attendance from your computer! 
 
           I f you need assistance with this technology, please call the front office at 214-276-5800 option 2 and schedule a time to meet with our Instructional Technology Specialist and he will help you set up your free Parent Portal access and an free email account (if you need one).

Athletics Department
          
          We are off to a great start in athletics this year and we are excited to see what this year has in store for us as an athletic department. If you need an athletic packet, please stop by and see one of the coaches in the gym. We want to continue to show our Eagle pride by coming out to the games to show our support of our athletes.
