Small Business Month  
Celebrating Entrepreneurship in Our Growing City 
October is Small Business Month, and the Brampton Entrepreneur Centre is celebrating entrepreneurship in the city with a wealth of training and seminars. Look for additional business workshops, delivered in partnership with Brampton Library, at Library locations across the city.

The month will be capped off with the main event on Thursday, October 27 at City Hall, where comedian Kate Davis will deliver a keynote address on Innovation through Connectivity. Come and find out how to establish, cultivate and keep connections that lead to productivity and success, both in business and our personal lives.

Changes to Personal Fireworks Use
Short-range fireworks are allowed on residential properties on Victoria Day, Canada Day, Diwali and New Year's Eve, without a permit. These fireworks tend to travel less than 3 metres (10 feet), such as fountains, wheels, ground spinners and sparklers.

What's banned?
Sale and use of all rocket-type fireworks for personal use. These are fireworks that could travel more than 3 metres (10 feet) from the point of ignition, such as roman candles, flying lanterns, skyrockets and barrages. [more...]
Community Grant Making Program 
Applications for municipal grant funding are now being accepted. Open to all Brampton community groups, sports groups and festival organizers, funding is available for arts and culture, sports, parks, recreation, and festivals and celebration events.
