Welcome to the beginning of the 2016-2017 program year!  This year, I have the privilege to serve our Section as President and look forward to working with this year's officers - Gregg Loesch (Vice President), Reneé Whittenberger (Secretary), and Ruth Klee (Treasurer).   I think we are going to see a lot of good things come out of this group.  Please help me welcome our new officers and to thank them for their time and effort to make our Section run.   I want to express a special thank you to Past President Gregg Loesch for agreeing to help the Section by serving as Vice President this year as a result of Amanda Foote's relocation to Virginia.

 

The annual Past Presidents Picnic and Golf Outing was held this year at Mud Run Golf Course on September 29.  We changed things up this year by holding the Past Presidents Picnic as a luncheon, and served a barbeque menu, which was very well received.  Much thanks to Chuck Vickers, Student Chapter Vice President, for organizing the golf outing.  Unfortunately, due to course conditions, golfers were unable to get on the course. Ten Past Presidents were in attendance and were recognized.  The new Officers were inducted. Also recognized were last year's Outstanding Civil Engineering Student Chris Ivanov and Memorial Scholarship winner Monica Moody.  The 2016 Employer Support award was presented to Environmental Design Group for most members attending Section meetings over the past year.   Mark Miller was presented with a Past President's Pin and Gavel Plaque to honor him for his service as President over the past year.  I would like to personally thank Mark for his service as President and for his ongoing commitment and leadership on the Board.  Mark Miller chose to give the President's Award to me for assistance to him over the past year.  I am duly honored.  Thank you Mark.

 

I would also like to recognize our committee chairs and representatives for the 2016-2017 program year - Dick Cook, Dr. Stephen Duirk, Don Gallimore, Christine Jonke, Andy Long, Jim Mitchell, Scott Moegling, Monica Moody, Dr. David Roke, Bill Rudlosky, Reneé Whittenberger, Ashley Wisberger, and Erin Woodson.  Please see the contact list in this Newsletter and on the website for their positions and roles.
