Skittles or a Coin Toss?
Not Who We Are Campaign Responds to Trump’s Outrageous Skittles Attack
NEW YORK – After the Trump campaign’s outrageous attack comparing refugees fleeing religious and political persecution to poisoned candy, the Not Who We Are campaign responded with a more appropriate metaphor for the stakes in this election.
In a tweet mimicking the look and feel of the Trump campaign’s attack, the Not Who We Are campaign asked: “If I had one coin and I told you just getting tails would put a racist in the white house. Would you flip that coin? That’s our Donald Trump Problem.” To see the image, click here:
“Donald Trump continues to launch divisive and hateful attacks against people of all backgrounds,” said said Not Who We Are’s campaign manager Josh Hendler. “We need to send a message that bigotry and hatred are not who we are by defeating Donald Trump and his brand of politics.”
Not Who We Are is a movement of people from across the United States who are speaking their conscience by starting open letters as employees, professionals, students, and members of civic institutions to say that Donald Trump’s racially intolerant rhetoric and policies are “Not Who We Are.” The campaign features NotWhoWeAre.us , an innovative online platform that allows Americans who are disgusted by Trump’s attacks to sign an open letter or create a more targeted one of their own.
