How is this possible?
We continue our amazing satellite adoption partnerships with local businesses - PetSmart, PetCo, Nature's Gifts, Ann-imals, PetLife, Pet Quarters and Andy's Agway. The cats are lovingly cared for by the owners and employees of these stores and we are grateful for their assistance helping these felines find their new homes.
In the past year, we have added a number of satellite locations specifically for
small animals. By sheltering pets directly with PetSmart stores in New Hampshire and northern Massachusetts, we have been able to assist in the rescue and placement of hundreds of small animals - from rabbits to rats, from gerbils to guinea pigs, from ferrets to finches. We don't have the capacity at AWS to house many small animals, so without the support of PetSmart, we wouldn't be able to help! PetSmart employees care for the animals and adopt them out right from the store. These animals spend less time waiting for their new homes and they go home with everything they need, since their adopters can purchase cages and supplies right at PetSmart.
Through this program, 336 small animals have found their new homes in 2016 alone!
