Dear Chess Enthusiasts,

It's great to be back for another exciting year of scholastic chess!

We have just posted our Tri-State Chess Tournament Calendar of events online for 2016-2017.
Please see the link on the sidebar.

We are happy to once again offer you 8 monthly Championship tournaments at different locations throughout NYC.

In addition, our first event of the year is coming up on October 30th in the elegant ballroom at The Jewish Center, pictured above.

Just to remind you of our time controls for the higher sections:

While Novice and Elementary sections remain G/30, the Reserve U 800 section is G/40.
Advanced U 1000 and Championship U1400 sections are both G/45.  And the U 1800 section is only 3 rounds but G/60.   All sections 5 minutes less when using 5 second time delay.

Our Beginner section (K-1) is unrated by the US Chess Federation.  Any players participating in the Beginner section do not have to pay USCF dues and do not need to be a USCF member. CXR ratings are no longer used.  Clocks will not be used in this section and it is not necessary to notate either.

All other sections will remain USCF rated as always; and players should notate their games.

We have over 100 giant awards to give away, so come join us for what is sure to be a fun time on October 30!

Hope to see you there.
