Interventions Group
DESCRIPTION:  The Interventions Group will provide participants with tools to assist them in their caregiving roles.  This year we are continuing our series on Spiritual Disciplines, with Linda Anderson-Gaines, PCC. The group meets 8:30-9:30am, and will include 1 CEU for Social Workers, Counselors and Nurses.

Busch Funeral CEU: Compassion Fatigue Among Professional Caregivers
COST: FREE
            October 12th: The Compassion Fatigue Among Professional Caregivers program will give professional caregivers (social workers, hospice staff, clergy, funeral directors, etc.) an understanding of the need for self-care in the urgent and demanding field they work in. Specific stress-reduction techniques will be addressed and implemented to prevent caregiver stress from affecting the clients they are working with. In addition, specific interventions will be presented to use with clients who are stressed. Presenter is Linda Anderson-Gaines, PCC-S.
Registration and breakfast begins at 7:00am with the program from 7:30am-9:30am.

Credits:   Continuing Education Units: 2 for counselors, social workers and nurses.  Continuing Education Hours: 2 for funeral directors.

            November 2nd - When Empathy and Boundaries Collide: This workshop will look at the intersections of ministry vs. healthy boundaries, and how a clinician can do both. For persons working in healthcare settings, hospices, pastoral ministry, and others, this program will help you to reflect on your role, self-care, and being present for your clients.  It will be from 9:00am-12:00pm, with registration and breakfast beginning at 8:30am. The workshop will include 3 CEU's for Social Workers, Counselors and Nurses. The speaker is Ty Morgan, MSW, LSW, Spiritual Director at Cornerstone of Hope.

Children's Grief Awareness Day: Mother Goose to Dr. Seuss: Telling the Stories of Grief
COST: FREE
November 17th at 4:00pm
In honor of National Children's Grief Awareness Day, Cornerstone of Hope is presenting a free CEU for anyone who works with children: school teachers, counselors, pastors, funeral directors and hospice personnel.  Participants will learn 10 different interventions to help a child or teen who is grieving, and will leave with projects and support materials to translate that learning into their practice.  The program offers one CEU for social workers, counselors and nurses, and one continuing education hour for funeral directors.  Registration, networking and hot chocolate bar begin at 3:30pm.  Space is limited, so register early!
