Artist Resource: Grant Writing for Artists

Applying for a grant requires skill, creativity, and research. A good place to start your research is the Foundation Center Grantspace website.

The Foundation Center is the leading source of information about philanthropy worldwide, and the resources offered through Grantspace help individuals gain access to available grants, fellowships, and awards.

The Grantspace Knowledge Base section is a great first step. Here you'll find answers to questions like "Where can I find a grant?" or "How do I prepare a budget for an art project?" Another excellent resource is Grant Seeker Basics for Individuals in the Arts, a webinar on how to find grants, work with fiscal agents, and create great proposals.

You might consider subscribing to the Grantspace service . There are different subscription levels that can help you identify appropriate grant opportunities around the country.
Artist Development Grants: July 1

The 2017 round of Vermont Arts Council Artist Development Grants will open for proposals on July 1. Find guidelines in the Artist Development Grants section of the Council's website.

We invite you to assist the Council in designing a grant writing workshop that meets the needs of artists. Please complete this survey to help us better understand how to meet your needs through a grant writing workshop.
