FastTrac New Venture for Women

You have an innovative idea for a business but you're unsure how and where to start.  FastTrac New Venture will help you define and evaluate your business concept while developing a business plan.  Participants will receive research, in-class activities, guest speakers, peer-to-peer interaction and facilitated discussion.

WE-Lend Microloan Funds Available to Women-Led Businesses 

 

Are you looking for a loan between $2,500 - $25,000 for your business?  The WBC's WE-Lend microloan fund provides small loans to women-led businesses who are struggling to receive a traditional loan for their business.  These loans are ideal for women who may have low credit scores, a small amount of collateral or who are just starting out in business.

Applications Open for Tory Burch Foundation Fellows Program  
 
Applications are now open for the second annual Tory Burch Foundation Fellows Program.
The yearlong fellowship gives 10 women entrepreneurs a $10,000 business education grant, a trip to the Tory Burch headquarters in New York and the opportunity to pitch for a $100,000 grant investment. You can   apply here through Nov. 10.

Last year, the Tory Burch Foundation received more than 500 fellowship applications and 30 finalists were featured on the foundation's website. After a public vote,   10 women made it into the program.


Women's Capital Connection and Mid-America Angels Celebrate Exit of EyeVerify  
 
Women's Capital Connection (WCC) and Mid-America Angels investment network (MAA) portfolio company EyeVerify closed a nine-figure deal with Ant Financial, the payments affiliate of Alibaba Group Holding, Ltd. on Monday. This is Ant Financial's first U.S. acquisition.

WCC and MAA members first invested in EyeVerify's 2012, $1.5 million seed round. The group also participated in subsequent Seed, Series A and bridge loan rounds, totaling $2.5 million, $6 million and $3.5 million, respectively. In total, 46 MAA and WCC members injected over $2 million of private capital to help the company refine its prototype, achieve traction and scale business operations over the years.
