PRINCIPAL'S LETTER
 
 
Dear Holy Name Families,
 
We hope you are having a wonderful week! Thank you to all who attended the  Literacy Night last week. The documents from the evening will be available on the school website's home page this evening.  We hope you are enjoying the  new website ! You are able to subscribe to the school calendar which can then sync to your phone. Please let us know if you have any questions.
 
Please click here to sign your son up for  basketball this season. Tryout information will be sent out soon.
 
This Thursday is a busy day! Not only do we have our  Blessing of the Animals, but we also have our  8th Grade High School Information Night  from 6-7PM in the Technology Center. All 8th   grade parents are strongly encouraged to attend! W e also hope to see all of our parents at our  General Parent Guild Meeting  this Thursday at 7PM in Flanagan Center. As always please let us know if you have any questions.

This Thursday we will also have a  test alert of our emergency system . You all should receive a voicemail, email, and text from Holy Name School. If you do not receive any of these please be sure to contact Alma Sullivan at [email protected] . Alma will be able to update your account to make sure all of our information is accurate.

Junior High Progress Reports 
went home today. Please sign and return them tomorrow. Tomorrow all junior high parents will receive a video that helps to better explain the differences between Schoology and PowerSchool and how you can access them in case you are still having trouble.
 
U pcoming Events:

We are hosting a screening of the documentary Screenagers on October 12th at 6:15PM in our gym. You can sign up here . We will have free babysitting for Holy Name families in Extended Care.

You can see the rain as a curse or a blessing from above.

FRIGHT FEST
Saturday, October 22, 2016
Our Fright Fest is coming! It's a fun day of games, food and entertainment from 10:00 to 5:00, with Bingo until 8:00 pm!  Help is needed in every booth. Please see below for service hour opportunities and other information. 

EARLY BIRD GAME and  FOOD TICKET PURCHASE ORDER FORM 
Your child is bringing home an order form to buy tickets for the Fright Fest. Tickets are needed for food and games. You may click here for additional forms. Pre-order tickets are available until October 14. You can find information to order tickets online via the electronic link.  

GROCERY BOOTH NEWS

Please send in groceries for our popular festival Grocery Booth! Each class is assigned a grocery item. Please click here or see the flyer that your child brought home today.

PRIZE BOOTH NEWS 
Donations are requested for any  brand new, unused toys for our spectacular Prize Booth! Arts and craft items, jewelry, sports memorabilia, Lego and stationary sets are always popular. Please drop off your items in the office by Thursday, October 20. Should you have any questions regarding what's acceptable or appropriate, please feel free to contact Christina Ignatius at  [email protected]. We appreciate your support and look forward to seeing you at the Fright Fest!

We need volunteers for booth setup and clean up.  This will be a great opportunity to earn service hours for your time.

LOOKING AHEAD 
On Thursday, October 6, we will be having the Animal Blessing in our schoolyard at 1:45.  If you would like to have your pet blessed on this day you may bring your leashed pet at 1:30 and join us. St. Francis is the patron saint of animals and the Animal Blessing is usually celebrated on the day he died.

  Holy Name vs. St. Cecilia volleyball tournament will be on Sunday, October 16 at Mercy High School.  Volunteers are needed to take tickets and to help in the snack bar. Service hours will be given. Please email [email protected].
