Florence wished for a restaurant tour, 
and received a magical evening!

Florence dined at Russell's Steaks, Chops & More after her 
behind the scenes kitchen tour

  "How do I say thank you for the sparkle Senior Wishes has put back into Mom's eyes" - Judy, wish recipient's daughter

All her life, Florence, 92, worked in a kitchen serving others.  Her wish to tour the kitchen at Russell's Steaks, Chops & More was enhanced with a limousine ride courtesy of Affordable Limo, and dinner she shared with her brother, Henry, 90, and her daughter and son-in-law.

The night was magical as one surprise after another delighted Florence:
  • Upon arriving, her name was in lights on the restaurant marquee
  • Wait staff held "Welcome Florence" signs as she entered the kitchen
  • Russell joined the group, delivering a personalized dessert plate for Florence, capping off an evening full of surprises

Mary conquers a fear of swimming

 
We are so proud of Mary!  After hearing our Executive Director Wendy Miller Backman speak, she decided it wasn't too late to make a dream come true, and was inspired to submit an application requesting swim lessons.
Mary was petrified of the water, so Wendy personally drove her to the first lesson.  After her private session, Mary expressed feeling a great sense of victory and hopes to be able to continue to enjoy the water in the future.

Maryjean attends Parish Nurse Training

 
Maryjean is a retired nurse, who wished to continue to serve her community.  Senior Wishes sent her to a one-week parish nurse training program.  At the end of the program she commented "As a Faith Community Nurse, it is my sincere desire, to fulfill the will of God to all those in need, within my professional scope and standards of practice."
