CONTENTMENT PRAYER
Lord, help me be grateful for what I have, to remember that I don't need most of what I want, and that joy is found in simplicity and generosity. from ENOUGH- by Adam Hamilton
Dear Friends~
Define ENOUGH.
That's it for today--- simply define ENOUGH.
This is how your Stewardship Team recently began a meeting- with each of those gathered around the table pondering and wondering together the meaning of ENOUGH. Sunday's worship theme is: The Game of LIFE: Finding Contentment in a World of GREED. What does it mean to have ENOUGH? What does it mean to be ENOUGH? How much is ENOUGH- of anything?
On Sunday we will explore this idea together. Come prepared to consider your definition of ENOUGH and wonder where you might find a true sense of contentment in a world of greed.
And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (~from Philippians 4.7)
See you at Church!
~Pastor Linda
Council Roundtable: Be sure to join the Council and Stewardship Team on Sunday between services in the Garden Chapel as they share a financial update (making sure that we have ENOUGH!) and share with us an opportunity to GIVE to NEW Capital Projects Fund.
ALL SAINTS Memory Table: Remember to bring your ALL SAINTS memorabilia as we prepare our worship space for ALL SAINTS' Sunday on November 6. Questions? See information below.

All Saints' Memory Table
|
|
We are preparing a Saints' Table in the Great Hall for ALL SAINTS' Sunday, November 6,
to remember all those in our lives who have died in the faith- people who have helped shape our own lives of faith. Who is that for you? Might you have a piece of memorabilia (a picture, a poem, something else)- that you might be willing to share- to bring to the table- as together we remember? We will begin
collecting these items
Bring your ALL SAINTS memorabilia as we prepare our worship space for ALL SAINTS' Sunday on November 6. Questions? Contact Pastor Linda or Pastor Jen.

Healing the Heart of Democracy-
The Courage to Create a Politics Worthy of the Human Spirit
by Parker Palmer
The author looks with realism and hope at how to deal with our political tensions for the sake of the common good.
Palmer writes:
For those of use who want to see democracy survive and thrive - and we are legion-the heart is where everything begins: that grounded place in each of us where we can overcome fear, rediscover that we are members of one another, and embrace the conflicts that threaten democracy as openings to new life for us and for our nation.
Read the book, then come for the discussions at 7pm on Tuesdays:
- September 20: chpt 1-2
- October 4: chpt 3-4
- October 18: chpt 5-6
- November 1: chpt 7-8
