After the 8 am service we will have a full breakfast for those that want to say good bye to Joanna and Robert or just visit before classes begin. We will also have a cake after the 10:30 service. Come wish Joanna and Robert the best and thank them for all they have done these last five years.  See you there!
BLESSING OF THE ANIMALS

We will hold our annual Blessing of the Animals on Sunday. Oct. 2nd at 2:30 pm in the courtyard between the Parish Hall and the Narthex. All animals, even stuffed animals, are invited, but please make sure your pets are friendly to other animals and kids. Our youth are holding a donation drive this day for supplies for our local humane societies.
FORMATION

October 2nd - November 27th
Adult Formation: Feasting on the Word.  This interactive Bible study based on Sunday's scripture readings looks at the scripture from four vantage points: What is important to know, Where is God in these words, What does this mean for our lives, and What is God calling us to do?

Children's Formation: Our youth and children are planning to combine for several special events this fall. The first one will be a celebration of Saint Francis Day this Sunday,  Oct. 2 .

During the  Sunday  School hour from  9:30 to 10:15 , the children will work with the youth to string popcorn and make birdseed ornaments, which we will use during the pet blessing at  2:30  Sunday  afternoon. Weather-permitting we will work outside near the playground. Rain location will be the youth classroom near the adult classroom. The children will not have singing practice this week

We want your help!

We want to know what you want to see in our choir and music program going forward with our search for a new organist/choirmaster. Have an opinion? Send the office an email here! We look forward to hearing from you.
Sing with Us

We have started learning the song "I Sing a Song of the Saints of God" in the preschool and elementary school Sunday School rooms this week. The song talks about how anyone can be a saint. Saints don't have special powers. They do amazing things, not because they are powerful, but because God is powerful, and it is God working through them who does the amazing things. We will be adding staging and costumes in the next few weeks. The children will perform before the 10:30 a.m. service Oct. 16. It's not too late to join us. We meet at 9:30 a.m. Sundays after breakfast but before classes in the basement under the parish hall.
Attention Knitters!

We are in need of prayer shawls, hats and scarves to give to those in need. If you like to knit, loom, or crochet, please consider creating something for this ministry. You can contact the church office for more information about this ministry.

Arkansas Youth Event

The Arkansas Youth Event (AYE) is Oct. 14-16, at Camp Mitchell. This is our fall weekend retreat open to 6th-12th grade youth from across the state. It is a great kick-off to the new school year, a chance to spend some time with old friends, and a time to make new friends from all over the state. The cost is $110. Learn more and register on the EYC website. Partial scholarships are often available through your local church and may also be available from the diocese. Contact your church leader first and then the diocese for financial assistance.
Cursillo

THE JOURNEY is a weekend retreat offered by Episcopal Cursillo in Arkansas that's designed to help enliven the faith of interested Christians so that they may begin to discover Jesus' will for their lives.  It focuses on how the resources of our faith strengthen and support our apostleship, and emphasizes those elements of doctrine and discipline which empower us to reach out.  The next Journey retreat is to be held October 21-23, 2016 at Camp Mitchell.  Registration deadline is October 12th. For more information, go to www.cursillo-ar.com or contact Registrar Betty Seymour at 501-319-7576 or bseymour52@gmail.com.
