The Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce supports a fair and open market. Our members support competition, and it should be expected for a strong economy. Business should and can thrive in a community that has one set of rules that are applied to the entire industry and not just a fraction of that industry or market. Click

Commissioner Ken Hagan Talks Transportation
On September 26th, Hillsborough County Commissioner Ken Hagan met with members of the Chamber's Transportation Advisory Committee to discuss the county's commitment to dedicate $600 million to transportation funding over the next 10 years. During the discussion, Commissioner Hagan explained that the funding is not enough to meet the needs of the county and it does not provide any transportation options or funding for the cities or HART.
The Commissioner was also asked why the county was unwilling to place a half-cent referendum on the November ballot and what the chances might be to do so in the future. He thanked the Chamber for supporting the half-cent option and recognized that the business community has a role to play in the future of transportation in Hillsborough County.
