University-wide 'shred day' scheduled for October 11

Do you have years (or decades) of paper records that were once important but are currently irrelevant to the operation of the university? Do these papers contain information that shouldn't fall into the wrong hands? Then this event is for you.

The annual university-wide shred day will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 11 from 8:30 to 11 a.m. and is sponsored by Information Systems on the Polytechnic Campus and the Information Technology Assistance Center (ITAC) in Manhattan.

Bags or boxes of documents to be shredded weighing less than 25 lbs each should be delivered to the loading area between Technology Center's east & west wings from 8:30 to 11 a.m. (see map above). A completed  document disposal form is required. If you need assistance in delivering your documents to the collection point, contact Information Systems at 6-2666.

To determine which records can be included, please refer to the university's  records retention policy and schedule, PPM Chapter 3090. If you have any questions about the retention length of records, please contact university archivist Cliff Hight at  [email protected] or 785-532-3420.

K-State Polytechnic grads invent 3D-printed beard comb

'Fully Bearded' could be coming to a store near you!

Dustin Keiswetter '09 and Shaun Kibbe '08, both engineering technology graduates, and Neil Ward, adjunct professor for K-State Polytechnic, have started a product development company on the side and already have their first invention!

Keiswetter and Kibbe are tapping into their mechanical engineering knowledge and have created  a 3D-printed beard comb, branding it Fully Bearded. Perfect for the upcoming No Shave November!

Kansas State Polytechnic is always excited to receive updates on alumni and is proud of each one's accomplishments.
Fly Kansas Air Tour visits the Polytechnic Campus
The 2016 Fly Kansas Air Tour included Salina as one of its stops during the three-day journey across the state, and Kansas State Polytechnic was proud to have the pilots visit the campus.

On Sept. 30, the participants of Fly Kansas were given a tour of the Stevens Flight Center and the UAS Lab. They also got a chance to fly the simulators and watched a drone demonstration in the netted pavilion.

Whitney Alexander and Kelly McDonald, both seniors and CFIs in professional pilot program, joined in on the fun for the Salina to Topeka leg of the tour.

Thank you to all of the Kansas State Polytechnic faculty, staff and students who helped make the Salina stop of the 2016 Fly Kansas Air Tour a success.

A high-five is one of the most recognizable ways two people can share excitement or celebrate a job well done. Kansas State Polytechnic's CEO and Dean Verna Fitzsimmons awards her high-five each week to honor faculty, staff and students for their dedication to the university.
