Cigna Sunday Streets in the Energy Corridor on October 2
The first Cigna Sunday Streets event of the new season will be held this Sunday, October 2, 2016, from noon until 4:00 P.M. in the Energy Corridor District. It will take place on Eldridge Parkway between Enclave Parkway and Briar Forest. This year, Cigna Sunday Streets will be featuring a neighborhood outside the 610 Loop for the first time ever.
The city's popular Cigna Sunday Streets event is headed to the Energy Corridor where bicyclists and pedestrians will have their day on a thoroughfare closed to motorists. For four hours, people will be able to bike, stroll, dance and socialize along an Energy Corridor thoroughfare, getting to know its retailers, restaurants, apartment communities and neighborhoods. There will be live entertainment, food trucks, a climbing wall, and other activities for kids of all ages.
Cigna Sunday Streets Houston is an initiative to promote and improve the health of Houstonians. Cigna Sunday Streets closes a stretch of roadway normally reserved for cars and other vehicles to allow cycling, walking, dancing, and socializing, and provides a family-friendly opportunity to be physically active.
