Classes
OLLI Class Information

Next Wednesday will be the first day of Fall Classes!  As you prepare to come to campus, please review the following information.

Bus and Shuttle Service
Enjoy door-to-door service on class days by parking at either of the following locations:
Shea Stadium ( 1523 W Nebraska Ave, Peoria) 
Westminster Presbyterian Church ( 1420 W Moss Ave, Peoria)

Beginning at 7:30 a.m. on  class  days, Peoria Charter buses will transport you from Shea Stadium and OLLI Shuttles will transport you from Westminster Church to the Student Center at Bradley.  Parking attendants will be on-site to assist you.  

Throughout the day, the OLLI Shuttles will be available to transport you between the Michel Student Center and Westlake, should you have classes in both buildings. 

Morgan Hall
The following classes will be held in Morgan Hall:
Bradford Model T Girls (class #27)
Trust Departments (class #28)

Morgan Hall is located across the street that runs behind Westlake Hall.  The OLLI Shuttles will take you to and from Morgan Hall for these classes.  Please click here to view a campus map showing the location of all the buildings and parking lots used for classes.

Pontiac
Join OLLI in Historic Pontiac

Historic Pontiac, Tuesday, Oct. 11, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

OLLI will visit the Route 66 Association of Illinois Hall of Fame and Museum featuring The Route 66: Photo Journal exhibit and display of life in the 1940's.  Well also visit the Livingston County War Museum and then board a trolley for a guided tour of the Murals on Main Street.  After lunch at Edinger's Filling Station, the group will stop at the Pontiac Oakland Automobile Museum and also have free time to visit the Historic Courthouse Square.

$79 includes museum admissions, tour, lunch, gratuities, snacks and charter coach transportation.

EP!C (Activity Level 2)
Monday October 3
8:45 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
Formerly known as PARC, EP!C (Empowering People, Inspiring Capabilities) has been serving individuals with developmental disabilities and their families for over 60 years. EP!C was founded by a group of parents of disabled children who wanted to provide their children with services to meet their special needs and give them every opportunity for full lives. Take a behind-the-scenes look at EP!C and learn how a program originally organized to serve ten children with disabilities now annually serves over 600 individuals and their families.

$25 - includes lunch, gratuities, tour, and shuttle  transportation

Peoria County Jail with Sheriff Mike McCoy (Activity Level 2)
Thursday, October 6
8:45 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
Peoria County Sheriff Mike McCoy will lead a behind-the scenes tour of his department and the attached jail while providing a narrative about the county's law enforcement services. During our visit, we will walk through the lockup portion of the facility and experience the jail's newer technological advances, including a closed circuit bonding system, computerized mug shot and booking system, a live scan fingerprint process system, and an interactive indoor shooting range.

$25 - includes lunch, gratuities, tour, and shuttle  transportation

Response to Trauma Study Group 

It's not too late to register for the following study group this Fall!  Please see below for the names of guests who will speak to the group across the five sessions.

What are typical responses to trauma, and why do people react differently? How can science inform our understanding of traumatic reactions? What treatments are available, and what factors help victims to become survivors? Examining responses to natural disasters, war, terror attacks, death of loved ones, domestic violence, sexual abuse, and ongoing relentless stress, we will hear from emergency room workers, therapists, veterans, and disaster management professionals. Participants will need email and Internet access to read brief articles and view short videos.

Tom Daschle to Speak at Bradley University

"What Can Be Done to Fix Our Broken Politics in America"
Presented by Former Democratic U.S. Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle

Peplow Pavilion, 3rd floor of the Hayden-Clark Alumni Center, Bradley University

Former Democratic U.S. Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle will be speaking at the Peplow Pavilion in the Hayden Clark Alumni Center at Bradley University on the timely topic "What Can Be Done to Fix Our Broken Politics in America."

Majority Leader Daschle recently co-authored Crisis Point with former Republican U.S. Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott, which discusses fundamental principles that can restore our American Democracy.  Books will be available for purchase, and a book signing will take place after his remarks.

Peoria to St. Petersburg Flute Recital Tonight

"Quirky Connections: Peoria to St. Petersburg"
Flutists Kyle Dzapo and pianist Tatiana Shustova

Cost: FREE 

Kyle Dzapo, Caterpillar Professor of Music and Director of the Honors Program at Bradley University, will present a recital of works for flute and piano with Tatiana Shustova, award-winning pianist from St. Petersburg, Russia.  Dzapo is also a pre-concert lecturer for the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and author of a new book, Notes for Flutists: A Guide to the Repertoire.

Bradley Theatre Presents Mr. Burns

Bradley University Theatre presents Mr. Burns, part thriller, part comedy, part musical, that begins in the near future as the survivors of a nuclear cataclysm tell stories around a fire.  It culminates nearly 100 years later in a mythic opera.
