Ladies and gentlemen,

I want to thank everyone who came out and supported the 6th Annual Bust'n Pumpkins 4-H Fundraiser on September 17th! The proceeds from this event fund the 4H Scholarship Program. This was the 2nd year PCSC hosted this sporting clay tournament and I hope we can continue to do so.

PCSC is a wonderful place to enjoy shooting sports. It has something for everyone with an expanding variety of ranges and activities, to include the recent 60th Anniversary Celebration!

I believe the only reason that PCSC has made it over sixty years is the dedication of the officers and directors. Many hard working people have given much of their time to the success of this club.

I encourage everyone to come out and vote in the Officers and Directors Election On October 20th!

The persons elected will represent you in the decision making process. These individuals decide the appropriation of club funds and vote on decisions for the future of the club.

Vote for the people that you believe will continue improving the way business is conducted and choosing the most effective way of spending your clubs funds.

Ryan Donnell
President

Anniversary 60 Years !
The Anniversary Celebration was so good...

How good was it, Dean Gravatt ?
It was so good, we gonna have to do it again... At age 61 !

...fun, food, friends, prizes, interactive shooting events, 'long range precision rifle' exhibitions, and a new 'RANGE G' SNEEK PREVIEW highlighted our PCSC '60th ANNIVERSARY'.
SPECIAL THANKS to PCSC '60th' Committee Chairman, DEAN GRAVATT.
Tremendous job, DEAN...!

There is too much to list of who all was there and how much we enjoyed the social event. Be sure and ask fellow members about it on your next visit to the range.  We're definitely gonna have to do something like this again.

THOSE WHO VOLUNTEERED  are  MOST APPRECIATED

There is just not room in one newsletter to pack the whole story and all the information is not consolidated by press time, so we'll cover the event over time with maybe links to photos and stories, etc over the next month or two. Get the word of mouth story from some that attended when you get the chance.

Thanks again, everyone who gave of their time and all that attended to enjoy the camaraderie and fun.

PS: We had some food left over and it was delivered to the good folks at the Parker County Sheriff's Office by yours truly,

- Chuck Garrett

Special Thanks from Scott McGuffie !
PCSC Brothers and Sisters,

Wow! What a day the 24th turned out to be. Food, fellowship, and firearms. The long wait to preview Range G seemed to be a success, and I think it will be quite popular.

I would like to take a moment to thank the club for its extraordinary patience while I plugged away on my evenings and weekends to get it done. Believe me, I would have preferred to have the entire thing sub contracted out, but the funds left in the budget just didn't allow for it.

I would like to thank our president Ryan Donnell and treasurer Mike DeRosia for the overall concept, drawings and initial kick off to the project.

I would especially thank my fellow volunteers who gave so much time and provided so much sweat equity: Ray Golden Jr., Mike Hodge, Randy Dykstra, Charles Bearden, Jon Kitts, Ron Woods, Ryan Donnell, and a very special thank you to my pard, Chuck Garrett, without whom, I never could have gotten this far.

There are still a few Items left on G to be completed and I hope to have them done by the time our Safety committee completes their review of the range, writes the rules, and begins orientations.

Again, Thank you all for your patience, and I've got to tell you all:
it was sure great to hear that steel PING !!!!

Scott McGuffie -  PCSC Director
60th Anniversary Special Thanks
Special Thanks goes to these businesses that donated to make our door prizes and events mighty special. Kindly remember them when ready to purchase or just in the neighborhood and give a howdy !

Parting Shots by Chuck Garrett, Editor

I have to apologize for not being able to cover the 60th Anniversary Party as fully as would have liked.  We just don't have the material all together. Life and time has limits and we have reached our limit, getting the Party done, Range G built, election planned.  Dean and I will get together at the next board meeting and consolidate all the material, who volunteered, check the photos that were made and such. The Party was relaxed and warm, a friendly atmosphere with fellow members actually getting to spend some time to get acquainted. I got to visit with member Billy Pirkle, with whom I have visited at length over emails. There were exceptional door prizes, caps, lanyards, real soda can Koozies and more for free. There was a cool turkey shoot Richard Cookus provided on Range A, where we got to shoot steel tombstones.  Range C had our local Azle business, Mirage ULR, custom rifle demonstrated by Chad Lane and his trusty sidekick, his young cousin Ryan. Not Ryan Donnell, remember that, I'll mention Ryan again down the way and also our own Mr. Donnell. We got to shoot this 1/4 min of angle rifle and it is impressive with a 10 ounce soft snap trigger and precision optic. Chad went on and on about how much fun they had being there and enjoyed the Woody Creek BBQ luncheon with great desserts. Cousin Ryan and I both agreed a nap was in order but Ryan Donnell called for Range G to be opened for all to check it out and get to shoot falling steel plates and dueling trees. And what beautiful design and workmanship Range G is. Mike DeRosia's architectural skills shone thru Scott McGuffie's skilled execution of the design. Ray Golden Jr. put the metal together and Jon Kitts and Ron Woods put the final touches on in stalling the steel plate fixtures. I even got to put some sweat equity into helping install the roll up doors and spilled some Thompsons water seal a bit. Whew, it was hot, but I enjoyed every minute of time helping Scott.  Boy, what team work can do !   Few know that the concrete T panels, 6,000 lbs each, are from a company in Lake Lillian, Minnesota and are the basis for open silos, to store material.  I know not the whole story, but you can check it out by searching for Hanson Silos, I believe, on the internet.  They have photos of our shooting range on their site in the early stages.  There is no doubt that Hanson will be pleased to see their panels put to use the way we have done. Many have commented they want to see the 19th century look of the Range G façade copied onto Range F and beyond.  I do to.  This gets us to the task at hand this month and that is the Election for Officers and Directors.  Friends, this is an important election with some crucial choices to be made. There is a great difference in the platforms the candidates support and it is in your best interest to come and vote. If this election is like elections at PCSC in the past, candidates will have the opportunity to speak briefly and they have the option of providing a printed resume for you to read that can include their platform. There is no doubt that the board that has been in place the last couple of years has really put in substantial time and effort in doing what they feel is the right thing for this club and it's members. It is this editor's hope to see you at the October meeting if you can make the time.  It'll be a serious time with the election but lets "throw our hats in the air" when it's over and just be glad we have the marvelous, key in your hand, open 365 days a year, "Freedom with Responsibility","Best Little Sportsman Club in Texas",
