San Joaquin County Tries to Sneak a PLA Through
On September 13th three San Joaquin County Supervisors, in a clearly calculated (and thus illegal) manner, voted to negotiate a PLA with local union bosses on their $40 million Acute Center Phase II Project despite the PLA item having not been placed on the Board's agenda prior to the meeting. CFEC, Associated Builders and Contractors NorCal, and the Western Electrical Contractors Association (WECA) called the Board on their squalid maneuver with this letter and forced staff to recommend they rescind their PLA vote at today's meeting.

We need you to do two things:
  1. Email the Board of Supervisors NOW about why a PLA would be a bad way to conduct business.

Bob Elliott, Vice Chair:  [email protected]
  1. Attend meeting TODAY at 9am. The meeting will take place in the Board Chambers, 6th Floor. The address is 44 N. San Joaquin Street, Stockton CA 95202.

We have achieved a big victory by forcing staff to recommend to the Supervisors that they rescind their PLA vote. Now we just need you to help us kill the PLA all together.
City of San Pablo Votes to Begin Process of Putting City-Wide PLA Into Place
Corrupt urban centers are always tough places to fight PLAs because facts and rational discussion have no sway on elected officials there. The City of San Pablo is a perfect case in point.

Yesterday, October 3rd, the City Council voted to approve the following motion:

Stay tuned.
Antioch Unified School District to Consider a PLA at Future Board Meeting
A union puppet on the Antioch Unified School District has telegraphed a coming PLA by requesting a "study session" on the issue at a future board meeting.

Stay tuned for more on this threat!

City of Concord Approved PLAs for All City Projects Over $750,000
Seemingly intent to increase the cost of construction projects for city taxpayers, the Concord City Council voted to place all city-funded projects over $750,000 under a PLA. The vote took place on September 15th.
City of Brentwood Approves PLA for New Library
On September 13th the City of Brentwood City Council  voted to approve a PLA for their new library project.
