Hello The New Zealand season has just started and the first fly fisherman in the shop was a local and in half a day he had caught the most trout he had ever landed in the upper Mataura river. He landed 4 nice browns on the same fly a size 16 Deadly brown nymph, one trout was just on four pounds. A great start to the season for one skillful and lucky angler.
It looks like the nice settled weather may change and rain may be on its way, which many rivers are in need of down my way. So lets hope the rains come and bring some more life to the waterways.
