Affordable Housing Fee
Study To Be Released
The San Jose Housing Department is hosting a community meeting to present its initial economic feasibility analysis of expanding the city's affordable housing impact fee to include projects with 19 or fewer units, mixed-use projects and assisted living/memory developments. The city currently levies a $17 per sq. ft. fee on new market rate residential rental developments of 20 units or more but nearly a year ago, the San Jose City Council requested a study on the fee expansion. The meeting will be on Oct. 6, 2016, from 10-11:30 a.m. at the Martin Luther King Library, Room 255, 150 E. San Fernando St. in San Jose.  Parking is available at the Fourth Street garage on the corner of San Fernando and 4th streets. Bring your parking ticket to the library's check out desk for validation. Interested attendees may RSVP to Karen.goodman@sanjoseca.gov .
