Critique Group Meeting:
The central event of our October 20 meeting will be the introduction to, and formation of, critique groups.
If you are not currently in one, this is the chance to check them out. If you are already in a critique group, but are interested in branching out in new areas, this is the place to do it.
Everyone will have an opportunity to explore the various groups in existence, ask questions, and learn about the benefits of joining a critique group. Our groups meet at different times of day, throughout the Charlotte metro area, and cover a range of genres. Come decide where you fit and get connected!

If you are a new member of CWC, and wish to introduce yourself, or perhaps brag a little about some of your past accomplishments, just notify the newsletter. You will be sent a questionnaire, and asked to return it, along with a jpeg of your smiling face.

This seems to be a slow month, news-wise, so we, the staff of the CWC Newsletter, have come up with some stuff that's happening next year.
A year or so from now, in October 2016, when we're all distracted by the upcoming election, there will be a Writers' Festival. It is probably going to be called CAROLINAS WORDFEST. We will be partnering with UNCC, JCSU, CPCC, Queens, Levine Museum, and the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Public Library. You will definitely want to be involved in it. We'll tell you more about it later. If we told you now, you'd probably just forget it. So watch this space. |

Maureen Ryan Griffin: A poem from Maureen Ryan Griffin's recent poetry collection, Ten Thousand Cicadas Can't Be Wrong, was featured on Garrison Keillor's "The Writer's Almanac" on July 8, 2015.
Suzanne Adams:
Suzanne Adams' story "The Severed Hand" has been accepted for publication in Main Street Rag's Ghost Anthology. Another of her stories, "The Wilderness Vow," appeared in the Spring 2015 issue of Minerva Rising Literary Journal. Thanks, CWC, for your encouragement!
