St. Joseph School
FLASH!
Our mission is to create a faith-centered community that educates and inspires students to reach their God-given potential.

A Note from the Principal
Fall is fundraising season at St. Joseph. Starting tomorrow with the Jog-a-thon, we kick-off a season of support for our school and its mission.

One of the reasons we were able to decrease the amount by which we raise tuition year over year is the fact that all members of our community contribute to our fundraisers. Whether it's $10,000 or $15, all gifts matter. We need every member of the community to participate.

Participation in these efforts is so important that we include them in our contract. I am grateful that all of you participate in the following events in the following ways:
  1. Jog-a-thon: a financial contribution, either by personal contribution or by securing pledges from others
  2. School Auction: donation of an item with a fair market value of $300 or more, or a cash donation to the auction for $300 or more.
  3. Annual Appeal: a financial contribution in response to a letter from me (many of you have already done this via the registration process last April).
  4. Scrip Program: just participate. You can by one card per year or 100 cards!
  5. Volunteer hours: a donation of 25 hours per year per family. We send out regular emails with volunteer opportunities; you can also look at the reader board in the main lobby.
Our ability to make the highest quality, Jesuit-inspired Catholic education accessible and affordable to all is greatly increased because of your generosity. Thank you for supporting our mission!

On another note, if you're free on Friday mornings after drop-off, please take a minute to stop by the main lobby for a cup of coffee. This is a great way to build and strengthen our community.

Amazon Smile Program
We all love St. Joseph School and we love raising big dollars with the click of a button! How you ask? Follow these simple directions and we can raise thousands per month!
  1. Go to the SJS home page. In the upper right hand corner, under quick links, click 'Amazon'
  2. If you haven't already, choose your affiliation by searching for "St. Joseph School Seattle."
  3. Shop as usual, Amazon will automatically give a percentage back (currently ranging from .5-7.5% depending on the item) of your purchase back to St. Joseph School.
  4. After you have made SJS your charity of choice make sure the first few times after returning to Amazon that "smile" pops up as an option so those dollars aren't getting thrown away!
Since the beginning of September we have raised $1,252.68! Thank you for continuing to think of SJS for your Amazon shopping. This community has purchasing power! Let's use it for our amazing school!

*Please note Amazon Fresh is not part of this program. Amazon Pantry is part of this program.

Desserts may be dropped off anytime during the day of the auction to Wyckoff Gym on Saturday, November 12, but no later than 5:00 pm please. Please submit a procurement form to the development office so you get credit. Thank you for your participation.
