Nominations Please...
Frances Mills is a legend at Family & Children's Council (FCC) for being a leader and advocate for  children.  She bravely went forward to do whatever was needed to make this world a safer  place for children.  Each year, FCC gives an award to an outstanding individual from our  community who continues to do Frances' work, demonstrating her spirit and commitment to
always keep the needs of children foremost in all of the work that they do.

She helped start FCC, served on the board and committees, and was very active, along with her  husband, a Waterloo physician, in starting up the Parent to Parent program. She helped to  arrange access for the agency to new moms in local hospitals, seeing the advantage of  supporting parents right away and not waiting until there were parenting troubles.

Frances was also on the Waterloo School Board and advocated for children across the state of  Iowa.

This award is meant for people who found a passion with helping children and families and  make a positive difference in their lives. Recipients of the Frances Mills Child Advocate Award  exemplify her gentle guidance and commitment to making the world a safe and nurturing place  for children to grow and fulfill their dreams.

Nominations  are due by October 10, 2016.
