Now Eligible for Ladies First Lifestyle Programs and Navigation
Ladies First can now enroll women on Medicaid between the ages of 30 - 64 to help achieve their weight loss and fitness goals. Women are eligible to receive services if they are up-to-date on their heart health screenings, mammograms and Pap tests. Some of the programs women can join include Weight Watchers, Curves Complete, Taking Pounds Off Sensibly (TOPS) and the YMCA Diabetes Prevention Program. Plus, members can get $30 in Farm-to-Family Coupons for use at select farmers' markets, a 1/2 bushel of pick your own apples at most Vermont orchards, a limited Veggie Share, a 10-visit punch card to Vermont state parks, pedometers and more. Also, any patient enrolled for Lifestyle programs automatically becomes eligible for patient navigation for any abnormal finding resulting from their Ladies First screening.

Real Stories of Ladies First
Ladies First has launched the "Real Stories of Ladies First" Facebook Campaign that spreads the word about Ladies First through member experiences. The campaign consists of 19 stories, taken from interviews of members that have participated in patient navigation or the Farm to Family coupon program, and will run until the end of September. The peer-to-peer approach encourages women who are not yet members or have been members in the past learn more about the program and what Ladies First has to offer. The campaign is showing early signs of success and has potential to boost enrollment and Ladies First screening rates.

The mission of Ladies First is to remove barriers to breast cancer, cervical cancer, and cardiovascular disease risk factor screening for low income women. To do this, Ladies First pays for breast and cervical cancer screening and diagnostics and navigates women for treatment if needed. Ladies First can also pay
for an annual appointment for members to receive their clinical breast exam, Pap test, and heart health screening. As determined by CDC, Ladies First covers screening appointments which can be best represented by Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) codes 99201-99205 and 99211-99215. The intent of this policy is to prevent members from getting bills for services ordered at a preventative medicine visit that Ladies First does not cover.
