The Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi Foundation for Policy Research is pleased to announce Emirati film director Abdulla Al Kaabi and Nigerian cinematographer Usman Oluwaseyi as the first-ever recipients of the Ras Al Khaimah Fine Arts Festival Documentary Film Grant awards.
"The selection committee was impressed with the unique stories the filmmakers presented and believes the finished documentaries will provide new insights into the people and culture of the United Arab Emirates," said Mr. Suqrat bin Bisher, Director of the Ras Al Khaimah Fine Arts Festival.

The Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC) said on Tuesday that 51 out of 186 private schools may raise their fees for the academic year starting next month, some by up to 50 percent. Despite the announcement, school fee schedules posted by ADEC show that tuition fees will maintain their same price levels as in the elapsed academic year, making parents confused in regards to the fees they will be paying.

The Ras Al Khaimah Fine Arts Festival Committee is now accepting entries for the 5th Annual Fine Arts Festival (RAKFAF2017). Sponsored by the Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi Foundation for Policy Research, information on the entry requirements for each submission category is available online at www.rakfinearts.ae. Submissions close October 22, 2016.
The official dates for the 2017 Ras Al Khaimah Fine Arts Festival are February 17-23, 2017. Selected artists' work will be showcased in a week-long exhibition at the Ras Al Khaimah National Museum and a film screening will be held to present the selected films. Tickets will be available for sale starting December 1, 2016 through the Al Qasimi Foundation office.
