Due to the joint Earth Mass and Blessing of the Animals service at 10am, there will be no Sunday School this week. Join us for this beautiful, creative service!

We will be back in Sunday School on October 9. Please fill out the 2016-17 Sunday School Registration form and bring it with you. 
LAST WEEK

High School Fall Retreat!



We had a great trip to Claggett Retreat Center with 14 awesome High School youth! We played games, created video shorts, did some art, watched movies, and walked the labyrinth all around the theme of celebrating new beginnings. Many, many thanks to chaperone extraordinaire, Fay Johnson, and to Beth Mahood, Christopher Herman, and Thesia Garner for carpooling the kids.

Singers Wanted for Boys & Girls Choir and Teen Choir

The Boys & Girls Choir and Teen Choir are seeking new members for the upcoming season. Give your child the opportunity to experience the joy of singing! 
 
If you are interested in learning more about the Boys and Girls Choir, contact Libbi Rivera.  Regular BGC Rehearsals are held in the Elders' Room every Sunday from 11:00 to 11:45 a.m. 
 
If you are interested in hearing more about the Teen choir, contact Nadine Hathaway.Regular Teen Choir Rehearsals take place in the Music Studio most Sundays from 11:00 to 11:45 a.m.
Oct. 15: Light the Night Walk- Team Hentry

Team Henry will come together again this year on October 15
th , the day before the 1-year anniversary of Henry's death, to honor his spirit, celebrate his life, and to raise funds to help the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) end blood cancer.
Amazing advancements in research are getting LLS closer to fulfilling its mission: to create a world with no blood cancers, so that no child will have to suffer as Henry did, and no family will have to experience the loss of their son or daughter.
Join St. Mark's youth and parishioner in joining Team Henry's efforts by registering to walk or making a donation.

Oct. 15: Raising Children- Young Families Potluck Gathering

Come and spend an evening with fellow St. Mark's parents while sharing a delicious potluck meal and meaningful conversation about life with young children. We will meet from 5:30pm-7:30pm in the Elders Room. Childcare and a pizza dinner will be provided for your children. REGISTER NOW!
Oct. 28: Halloween Dance!

Put on your best costume and join us for a fun and spooky night on Friday, Oct. 28 from 6:30pm-10:30pm in the Nave! Come for good food, fun children's activities, music by the "Cheek-to-Cheek Band", and endless seasonal fun!

Safeguarding God's Children: Fall Training Dates!
The Fall training dates Safeguarding God's Children, the required child abuse prevention training offered by the diocese, have been announced.

This training is required for any volunteers working with children and youth (including Christian education leaders) who have not completed a child abuse and sexual misconduct prevention program in the last three years and is strongly encouraged for  a nyone who wishes to learn more about how their parish can protect children and youth. 

Please register for one of these Saturday sessions and encourage others to join us in ensuring the safety and well-being of our youth program!
