November 4, 2016
Please join us for FPA Philadelphia's 3rd Annual Career Day to connect with successful financial planning practitioners and learn about job opportunities! It is an opportunity to bring together financial planning students, professionals, and hiring firms for a day of interviewing, professional development, and networking. Unlike typical Career Fairs, at Career Day, firms will actually interview pre-selected candidates.
Highlights Include:
Who might be interested?
Financial Planning Employers and Recruiters:Professionals who are looking to hire for an internship or entry-level position will have an opportunity to interview a number of candidates in one convenient location and all in one day. The program will also include guidance for firms looking to maximize the value of hiring financial planning students.
Financial Planning Students and Job Seekers:
Students and other job seekers benefit from having an opportunity to interview with multiple financial planning firms all in one day. In addition, Career Day will also provide ample career development and networking opportunities, including mock interviews, resume reviews, and roundtable discussions with financial planners.
Other Financial Planning Professionals:
Career Day will include an educational program and luncheon focused on career development issues related to bringing a new generation into the financial planning profession.
How does Career Day work?
Employers and students need to register in order to participate in Career Day. The Career Development Committee will collect and distribute the student resumes to employers, after which employers will notify the Committee who they would like to interview. Employers interviewing for the full day can select up to twelve candidates to interview (six candidates in the morning and six in the afternoon). The Committee will then create and distribute an interviewing schedule for the employers and students. If students have breaks in their interview schedules, they will have opportunities to network, have their resume reviewed, and learn more about the profession and beginning a career in financial planning.
For Employers, Recruiters, Students and Job Seekers:: To take full advantage of Career Day, register by October 20, 2016. Students need to submit their resume, and firms need to submit any job descriptions in PDF format to fpaphillycareerday@gmail.com by the registration deadline. Only resumes and job descriptions that are sent to that email address will be distributed.
Disclaimer: By submitting your resume or job description for Career Day
you hereby give your consent for the FPA Philadelphia Tri-State
Area to distribute it as they best see fit, be it before, during, or after Career day.
