Get on Board to Help Win the Transit Referendum!

bus
With less than two months till Election Day, transit supporters are visiting neighborhoods, community groups, and campuses to talk to Indianapolis residents about the critical need to improve transit service in Marion County. HEC is a partner in Transit Drives Indy, a grassroots coalition promoting the "Marion County Transit Plan" and the November 8th ballot referendum.   The referendum, if approved by voters, will provide critically-needed new funding to increase bus frequency, hours of service, and establish new rapid transit routes!

Support the transit campaign by signing on at transitdrivesindy.org, and by volunteering to help with phone banking or attending community events as a transit ambassador. For more information contact Tim Maloney at [email protected] .
Register for "Greening the Statehouse"!

Greening the Statehouse, which will be held on Saturday, November 19th, is the year's best opportunity to network with environmental-minded Hoosiers from across Indiana!

It's also your best annual chance to learn about our state's leading environmental issues and about key solutions!

Improving Environmental Health on Indy's Southside

HEC has been awarded a grant to help neighborhoods on the Southside with environmental issues as part of the area's "Southside Quality of Life" planning process. Solving environmental challenges in the city can reduce exposure to toxins, enhance neighborhood pride, and improve chances for economic development. For this project, HEC is partnering with the Southside Health and Wellness Committee, the University of Indianapolis, and the IU Fairbanks School of Public Health.   Learn more by contacting HEC's Environmental Health Director, Dr. Indra Frank
Join HEC's Environmental Advocates!

HEC's volunteer program is continuing to grow and we need you to make this the most successful and active group of volunteers in the state! Trainings are held on the second Wednesday evening of each month.  Stay up to date by visiting our webpage and also by "liking" and following our dedicated  Facebook page.
