An Instructed Eucharist
: Have you ever wondered why we worship exactly like we do? What does it mean when we stand or kneel? How do we choose the readings each Sunday? What distinguishes our worship as Episcopal versus Roman Catholic or Congregational? Bring these and any other questions as Jennifer leads us step-by-step through the symbols, history, meaning, theology and spirituality of our Sunday worship.

Dear Epiphany,

I often receive questions from parishioners about why or how we do particular things in worship, so.....

Bring your questions about worship to the Adult Forum this Sunday!
An Instructed Eucharist: 9:15 a.m., Parish Hall

Our Sunday Eucharist is a thin place where heaven and Earth join, where God draws ever nearer to us as we draw near to God. We bring the longings and burdens of our world and our hearts, even some that are known to God alone, and receive grace in bread and wine, Word and song, prayer and community. Then we are sent out to care for the world that Christ so loves. I have always believed that coming to church on Sunday morning is a brave thing to do for you never know how God will touch your heart while you're here and how you'll be changed. Bless you for your courage in showing up week after week. Thanks be to God we take this journey toward holiness side by side - loving, encouraging and supporting one another as we walk the Way of Jesus.
Yours in Christ,
Rev'd Jen

  • Pilgrim Group
  • Pilgrim Group: Class for Inquirers, New Members, Confirmation Candidates
This year, Epiphany will offer a faith formation and sharing group beginning in mid-October. It will include, prayer, study of Scripture, and conversation. The group is open to all and especially appropriate for: * those who have recently started coming to church in the last year. * those who want a chance to think and learn about Christian faith * those preparing for confirmation or baptism * those who have been Christians for many years and want to visit the roots of their faith * those who are new to the Episcopal Church and are considering membership The group will be led by Rev'd Jen and meet at a mutually agreeable time likely several times a month. It is especially appropriate for any one feeling called to consider confirmation or reception into the Episcopal Church when the Bishop visits us next in February 2017, however I hope we will continue meeting through May. Please speak with Rev'd Jen about your interest by Sept. 30.

  • Epiphany Tree Trimming and Removal
  • You will notice, when you arrive at church this weekend, that the large oak tree by the Parish Hall door was removed this week. Regrettably, it was hanging over wires and causing significant moisture problems to our roof. At the same time, multiple trees around the property were trimmed for their health and safety. It is unfortunate this large, beautiful tree will no longer shade our property as it has likely done since the founding of St. Michael and All Angels. We have saved a wedge from the trunk that will eventually reside prominently in the church to remind us of our responsibility to plant new trees where we have taken one, bring new growth wherever we can and care for the creation God has entrusted to us. Our Easter faith calls us to seek new life from any death so I look forward to planting seeds with you in the future. Our thanks to the Property Team, especially George Nunes and Bruce Lambert, who skillfully shepherded this project. ~ Rev'd Jen
