PICK UP PROCEDURE AT RES - When picking up your child at Richfield Elementary School, please drive around to the East side of the building and enter the playground through the gate directly ahead. You will park your car on the playground.  Students will be dismissed by the pick up supervisor when they see their ride has arrived.  After you have your child, please exit the playground through the far gate closest to Hwy 175.  We would like one entrance and one exit.  Please be extra cautious when traveling through the playground parking.  There will be students crossing the pathway to get to their cars.  Speeds should be kept very low.  We appreciate your patience during pick up time.  It can often be a very busy time and we would like to keep it safe for all involved.
SPIRIT WEAR -  Click here for the latest spirit wear order form
LUNCHROOM HELPER - Richfield is still looking for one volunteer on Thursdays to help serve lunch.  This is a great way for you to see your child during the day.  The kids love to see their parent or grandparent helping out behind the line.  If you can spare a bit of time around the lunch hour on Thursdays, contact Mrs. Connor at connorc@richfield.k12.wi.us.
RES PARKING LOT- When dropping your child off in the morning, please make sure you pull completely past the front door to the end of the sidewalk before dropping your child off.  If you stop in front of the door, it causes congestion out into the road.  We would like to make sure morning drop off is safe for all students as well as the general traffic on the roads.
PARENT SOUNDING BOARD -  The Parent Sounding Board Committee will meet three times during the 2016/17 school year.  The meetings are open to anyone, however we are seeking commitment from one parent per grade level.  If interested,  please complete the survey at the included link .  Intended dates to meet are: October 11January 31, and May 2.  Meetings are planned for 6pm - 7pm.

CHARACTER DAY, 2016!

One Day Together; One Lifetime of Self-Awareness and Self-Acceptance

Character Day is an annual celebration where groups around the world, in 88 countries and all 50 states in America, screen films on the science of character development, from different perspectives, as a way to dive into meaningful discussions around the importance of developing character strengths such as resilience, perseverance, empathy, courage, and kindness.

Possessing character strengths such as gratitude, fairness, and optimism have been shown to lead to happiness and lower stress levels.  It is our goal to guide students to success, so helping each student explore and understand their character strengths to a greater degree allows us to help each student grow socially and emotionally, as well as academically. This week during College and Career Readiness (CCR), middle school students were able to actively participate in discussions and activities designed to help them explore who they are and what they want to accomplish in life.  They viewed some amazing film clips that focused on motivation and success.  They also talked with their peers about their strengths and how their strengths can be used to help others, as well as themselves.

On Thursday, every middle school student was invited to our first annual Character Day!  The students came to the cafeteria and were active participants during the engaging Character Day assembly.  They got to work with others to discover what motivates and engages each of them.  They also got to spend the afternoon focusing on what they want to accomplish and what character strengths they can utilize to help them reach these goals.  It was a powerful, touching afternoon, and hopefully we all walked away feeling a bit more empowered to achieve all of those dreams we hold dear to our hearts!  Character Day, 2016 was a huge success thanks to all the staff and students here at our wonderful school!  Thank you!

WE THINK THIS IS COOL!!!
The Richfield Elementary School art students have worked together on a collaborative school mural to brighten up our hallways. Each student created a quarter of a circle to tell us about themselves.  This is a great way for our students to get to know each other.

Thank you Ms. Kostuch for a very creative beginning of year project.
