LIVE PC GIVE PC SUCCESS

LivePC GivePC was a great success for the Youth Sports Alliance and its Get Out & Play Program. Total donation amount to the Alliance continued to increase year over year and the Alliance increased its number of donors by a third over last year. YSA just missed a top spot on the Leaderboard this year.

GET OUT & PLAY IS COLLECTING GENTLY USED SKI CLOTHING, HELMETS & GOGGLES

It is time to clean out your closets! YSA is collecting CLEAN used snow gear to help get out our scholarship kids properly dressed for the slopes. We can take all gear except skis and boots (Switchback sports will take used skis and boots if you are looking to get rid of them). There is a box in the lobby of each Park City Elementary School to place items for collection or you can drop off at the YSA offices at 1665 Bonanza Drive (above the Intermountain Healthcare Insta-Care Clinic).

Get Out & Play will outfit scholarship students on December 9th at McPolin Elementary School.

GET READY FOR WINTER & TRAIN WITH OLYMPIANS — STILL TIME TO JOIN

Our "Get Fit For Winter" series started last week, but there are still spots available! The CrossFit PC team will take you through various exercises to help you improve your strength and conditioning, but more importantly help with injury prevention in the upcoming ski season. This 10 session, 5 week course is OPEN TO ALL ABILITIES, beginner through advanced athlete. As a bonus 7 of our local Olympians will be dropping by to give you some tips and train with you.

ALL MONEY RAISED GOES TO THE GET OUT & PLAY SCHOLARSHIP FUND. Last year we helped 130 students get on the slopes, enjoy ice skating and ride mountain bikes. For some, this is their only chance to experience skiing or snowboarding.

THIS WEEKEND: PARK CITY ROTARY CLUB'S FIRST ANNUAL GIVING TREE FESTIVAL

The Giving Tree Festival is a live auction of beautifully-designed holiday trees. Park City Rotary Club has invited Summit County non-profit organizations to design and decorate a tree or other holiday-themed item. Each non-profit will receive 90% of the funds raised by its tree. The remaining 10% will be divided between a people’s choice award and the cost of the event. The day before the auction, there will be a preview open to the community, followed by a private, invitation-only preview cocktail party.

YSA's priceless Winter Olympics History Tree is a 7-1/2 foot artificial Noble Fir, complete with lights, traditional garland and a variety of ornaments. Some are signed by Winter Olympians including Ted Ligety, Stein Eriksen, Shannon Bahrke, Hannah Kearney, Trace Worthington, Derek Parra, Taylor Fletcher, Joey Cheek, Dan Jansen, and Bonnie Blair! Others include replicas of medals and posters from various Winter Games.

Tickets for the dinner and auction are $50 and are available online through Eventbrite or contact Cathy King at 435-640-9095.

EPICPROMISE CHAIRS FOR CHARITY — VIEW AND VOTE AT KIMBALL ART CENTER DEC. 7-10!

EpicPromise Chairs for Charity Auction and Community Grants Reception
Thursday, December 10 from 5-7:30 PM
Kimball Arts Center, 1401 Kearns Blvd, Park City

What better way to celebrate winter than to bring home a chair from the beloved Motherlode chairlift? Please join Bill Rock and the entire Park City Giving Council for the 2016 grant announcements celebrating Vail Resorts' non-profit partners and the work they do for our community. After grant announcements the event will continue inside with an auction of chairs from PCMR's Motherlode lift — each donated to a nonprofit and carefully adorned to represent facets of the Park City community.

If you wish to attend and bid, please contact Aimee Preston at [email protected] or 435-214-0792.

Please view and vote for our chair
All 18 chairs will be on display at the Kimball Art Center from December 7-10. We encourage members of the community to stop by and view all of the chairs, and then cast a vote for their favorite chair design. The organization with the most "community votes" will receive an additional financial gift from EpicPromise.
