Episcopal Diocese of Pennsylvania
United Thank Offering

#ChangeChangesLives

To: All Members of the Diocese,

Thank you for your continuing support of United Thank Offering (UTO), one of the oldest ministries -126 years- of the Episcopal Church
. "Put gifts into the blue box with thanksgiving, prayer and generosity. Take blessings out of the blue box for grants extending the Church's faithfulness to God's mission"

A special thanks to parishes that submitted their parish offerings so far for the 2016-year. We are looking forward to receiving all parish offerings -Ingathering- at the November 2016 Diocesan Convention at the Philadelphia Episcopal Cathedral.

Reminder: each parish should schedule a time period for UTO. Distribute the blue boxes and envelopes, then Ingather the offerings. Draft a parish check for the total offerings payable to UTO Diocese of PA. Make a copy of the check. Send the original check to UTO Diocese of PA, P.O. Box 95000-1372, Philadelphia, PA 19195-1372. Then, send the check copy to Betty Berry-Holmes, UTO Coordinator c/o St. Luke's Church Germantown, 5421 Germantown Avenue. Philadelphia, PA 19144.

Fall is the time for UTO Grants
This season's grants are for youth ages 19-30 and seminarians of any age. Evangelism and reconciliation are the criteria and focus for both grants. Each grant will be $2,500.00 for start-up money for a new project that will be written and implemented by the applicant. The deadline to submit UTO Youth Grants ages 19-30 to the Diocese Office c/o Linda Hollingsworth ([email protected]) is 5:00 p.m., October 21, 2016. Seminarian UTO grants are to be submitted at a date set by the Dean of the Seminary. Grants selected by the UTO Board will be announced March 1, 2017.

Please share this information to all youth and seminarians in the Diocese. Contact Betty Berry-Holmes at any time at
[email protected] or 215-884-1053.
