Important Things to Remember
  • Put your child's name on their lunch box, backpack, jacket, and even gym shoes.
  • No toys from home are allowed in school or on the playground at recess.
  • K - 4 parents dropping off children in the morning should follow the correct flow of traffic. Drop off students before the yellow curb in front of the gym doors.
  • The first bell rings at 8:55 am. Students arriving after 9:00 am are marked tardy.
  • If your student requires other than routine dismissal arrangements, please send a dated note with your child's first and last name in the morning. In the event you forget to send a note with your student, non-emergency calls to the office will be accepted until noon. Your cooperation is appreciated in making dismissal time prompt and error free!

A Message from Mr. Glimco - Principal of PMS

Dear Parents,

Many years ago when I was the Director of Student Activities at Lyons Township High School, my Student Council Officers expressed a desire for a greater student voice in the decision making process at the school. Their proposed solution of petitioning the School Board for a Student Representative to the Board of Education led to a new position that proved to be so successful that it became the model for districts across the state.

Empowering Students with Schoology

In my last post, I referenced our goal of empowering students to take ownership of their own learning.  One excellent venue for promoting this sense of autonomy is Schoology, our new LMS (Learning Management System).  Schoology provides a wealth of opportunities for students to access and share content.

Future Planning Committee - Register by Sept. 23

District 107 needs you to help shape the future of our schools!  The district is seeking stakeholders who are interested in taking part in the Future Planning Committee.  As the district takes on changes and new initiatives, the goal is to improve students' experiences.  The Future Planning Process brings parents, community members, staff, and students together to create a vision of the future; this process has the potential to transform the district's schools.

This committee will meet at Pleasantdale Middle School for three, two-hour meetings.  The only requirements for participation are that members are a Pleasantdale SD 107 resident or staff member and can commit to all three meeting dates on Oct. 5, Nov. 2, and Dec. 14 from 6-8 pm.  At the meetings, members will identify areas the district can improve and ways the district can better serve students and families.  The outcome of the Future Planning Process will be a long-term strategic plan that will help shape the education of district students.

For those who would like to be a part of this exciting process, please click here to register for the committee.  Registration is open now and will remain open until Sept. 23.  Questions can be directed to Superintendent Dave Palzet at [email protected].
